Q + A

When and where are the wedding Mass and the reception taking place?

Our wedding festivities will take place in Derek's hometown of Lindsay, Texas, which is just over an hour north of Dallas. We'll begin at 2:00 pm with our wedding Mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Immediately after the Mass and beginning around 3:00 pm, we'll host our guests for a reception at the parish hall, Centennial Hall, right across the street from the church.

What is the attire?

We kindly request that guests wear formal attire, which means a dark suit and tie for gentlemen and a floor-length gown or knee-length cocktail dress for ladies.

What time should I arrive?

Out of respect for the church and to ensure that everyone is seated to timely begin the wedding Mass, please arrive at the church no later than 1:45 pm.

Will the wedding Mass and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Both the wedding Mass and reception will be indoors.

What happens after the wedding Mass?

Immediately following the wedding Mass, guests are kindly asked to head straight to the reception hall, Centennial Hall, right across the street--where you can enjoy appetizers, drinks, and entertainment for cocktail hour. The wedding party and families will be taking photos nearby for about an hour.

I'm not Catholic. Is there anything special I need to know about the wedding Mass?

We would be delighted to have you at our wedding. The only thing you need to know is that, if you are not a Catholic in the state of grace, the teaching and request of the Catholic Church is that you should not receive the Eucharist during the Mass. Instead, during the Eucharistic procession, you are invited to walk up to the front of the church with everyone else to receive a blessing by crossing your arms over your chest or, alternatively, remaining in your seat and participating by praying for the unity of all Christians. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact Savannah or Derek.

Can I bring a date? Can I bring my children?

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will be able to accommodate only those persons listed under your RSVP. This includes family members such as children. Thank you for your understanding.

What should I do if I can’t make it?

We will miss you! Please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Parking is free. There is ample parking on the left side of the church, between the church and the reception hall, Centennial Hall. There is also plenty of parking at Centennial Hall right across the street from the church and you can easily walk to or from the church and Centennial Hall for both the Mass and the reception.

We're coming from out of town. What airport should we fly into?

Both Dallas-Forth Worth (DFW) and Dallas Love Field (DLA) airports are great options. DFW is a little bit closer to Lindsay and will be easier to get to your hotel if you're choosing one of our recommended hotels. But if you're making a vacation trip to Dallas out of our wedding weekend and want to see more Dallas sites and stay closer to Dallas, Love Field may be a better option for you.

Do I need to purchase a wedding gift?

Your presence and prayers for us are enough. If you wish to additionally bless us with a gift, we are grateful and ask that you purchase something off our wedding registry.
